[Justice for Juveniles]
The court case of Lionel Tate has inspired a South Florida legislator to push a measure that would keep juveniles out of prisons.
Tate is now nearly 17. He was 12 when he killed Tiffany Eunick back in July of 1999. He was tried as ‘an’ ‘adult’ and given a life prison term. [...]

Police in Prince William County recovered more than $30,000 worth of stolen computer equipment thanks to modern tracking technology.
The computers were stolen from Country Wide Home Loans on Tacketts Mill Road in Lake Ridge. According to a police affidavit, the burglars broke through a window to get the computers and equipment.
However, the thieves apparently didn’t [...]

I contacted the city of Oakland Park about the serious flooding problem on my street. The email I got back from them said:
Your street is a county road, which means Broward County maintains it. I have not heard of any plans for improvements north of Commercial.
I know the other side of the street is [...]

Plastic::Politics::Ideas: “What exactly is your definition of left, or of right? Is it as simple as Democrat or Republican?” [Plastic]
My Political Compass score is Economic Left/Right: -1.38, Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62. I’m strongly opposed to religion in government, yet I also object to high taxes and big government spending. As a gay man, I’m disgusted by [...]

Interesting history of General Magic by Richard Doherty.
I actually owned a Magic Link, along with the development system. I never did write any software for it, and I didn’t use it once the initial amusement wore off. It was cute at first, but useless. Nothing worked well & it tended to lock up at random. [...]

Great letter in the Hampshire Gazette:
Last Friday I was listening to the radio when I heard someone complaining that the court had overstepped its bounds , making social policy against the better judgement of the citizenry and subverting the legislature. I assumed at first that this was the now familiar lament of those who disagree [...]

From Express Gay News, normally known for sleazy, sensationalist, minimally-researched and non-proofread journalism, finally something worth reading.

On December 13, when U.S. forces captured Saddam Hussein, President George W. Bush not only celebrated with his national security team, but also pulled out his pen and signed into law a bill that grants the FBI sweeping new powers. A White House spokesperson explained the curious timing of the signing - on a Saturday [...]

This cat is hanging around outside my apartment. One of my neighbors thought it was Cody at first, but his coloring is a bit different. He’s also a lot smaller and looks like he’s been in a few fights. His ears are cut up pretty badly. He’s very friendly, though.
Update: One of my other neighbors [...]

I’ve received at least 10 spams advertising software to stop spam.
This thing really works.
Do you find yourself consistantly adding your email address to ton’s of spammers “remove me” lists?
I know I did. I tried out this software (the ad and link which I have included at the bottom of this email) and I haven’t gotten [...]

Interesting thread at SlashDot reminiscing about first computers. Mine was a Quest Super Elf (more about it here). This was based on RCA’s COSMAC 1802 processor, using a hex keypad & LED display. It came standard with 256k of RAM, but I had a whopping 4K on the expansion card, which also included an S-100 [...]

Lieberman needs to shut the fuck up and drop out of the race already. He’s deluded if he thinks he can win the nomination. All he’s doing is hurting the other candidates and helping Bush. He’s not even a real Democrat - he sounds more like a Republican and would probably be happier switching parties.
If [...]

Here are the results of the AFA Marriage Poll as of 10:25 PM. It looks like it isn’t going the way they want. I wonder if they’ll still present it to congress.
