Via SFGate: In 2005, Congress passed an energy bill with numerous incentives to encourage conservation. One of these provisions provided a tax credit, beginning January 2006, for purchasers of approved hybrid gas-electric automobiles. This tax credit can be substantial — up to $3,150 for the Toyota Prius, perhaps the best known hybrid.
Unfortunately, unless you earn [...]

Via LinuxDevices.com: A self-described “world famous celebrity hacker” has managed to boot uClinux on Sony’s MIPS-based PSP (Playstation Portable). Chris Mulhearn’s port so far lacks support for key PSP peripherals such as the screen, but could interest hackers able to connect serially to the PSP’s “remote headphones” port.

I finally got wireless working on my Dell laptop under Linux. It turned out my Linksys 802.11g PC card was v2 which uses a TI chipset rather than Broadcom. Installing the v2 Linksys driver with ndiswrapper got it working.
One annoying thing about Linksys and many other network hardware manufacturers is that they often use very [...]

I bought a Nikon Coolpix L5 yesterday at Circuit City when I saw that it was cheaper there than anyplace online. It’s much smaller & lighter than the Canon A75 and the picture quality is excellent.
