I arrived at my hotel in Vancouver, but my checked bag didn’t make it. It supposedly went out on the next flight (along with about 3 others from my flight) and it will be sent here later tonight.
Fort Lauderdale airport has the best free wireless internet. Unfortunately I had to connect through LAX.

Zune installation described as “worst experience ever”
May 28th, 2007 · Comments Off · Macintosh
Via UNEASYsilence:
According to Robbie Bach, Microsoft’s president of the Entertainment and Devices Division, Zune has already met the goal of 1.000.000 players sold, set at launch for the end of June. He also confirms that new Zune things will come in this fall, talks (not) about the Zune Phone, the new Watermelon Red Zune, the [...]

Security Update 2007-005 is bad news
May 24th, 2007 · 1 Comment · Macintosh
After I installed the new security update, my MacBook Pro hung at startup twice. I rebooted in single user mode (cmd-S) and did an fsck, which found no damage, and I was able to finish booting. However, it now thinks Bluetooth isn’t available.

I found out yesterday that I have to go to Vancouver for work next week. I didn’t find out the details until today. I love Vancouver, but this is very short notice. Luckily my friend will be able to watch my cats, although this will be the longest they were away from me. I’m staying [...]

Another WorldBeatPlanet change

I got rid of the e-commerce module, which was a big pain. Instead I’m now using Amazon product nodes and I created a custom content type for CD Baby products. The store is now a new view which simply shows all Amazon and CD Baby product nodes. I can easily add other affiliates with the [...]

For the last few days I’ve been fighting with Microsoft VSTS to get my source code checked in. Whenever I try to get latest changes to my VMware shared folder, it always fails with error 1359. Just for fun, I tried using the virtual C drive instead of my Mac OS X home directory and [...]

I’ve completed most of my enhancements to WorldBeatPlanet. The emphasis is on community and user’s content. I’m now allowing all registered users to have a blog and a member page and upload audio or video. The video module allows YouTube videos to be embedded as well as uploaded video files. Instead of stories, the primary [...]

New WorldBeatPlanet Features

I’ve been working on more features for WorldBeatPlanet. One of the enhancements I just added is Digg-style voting using the DrupalIt module. I also made a new logo and added a right sidebar for top picks, user pages, and recent posts.

Domain squatters must die

I’ve been thinking of reviving my old domain name ShareYourMusic.com (which used to redirect to WorldBeatPlanet) in connection with the new changes I’m making to WorldBeatPlanet. When I checked it today I discovered that it’s now parked at a ‘domain for sale’ page by a domain squatter, and they want at least $2500 to buy [...]
