iDjembe
Start a drum circle with your iPhone!
iDjembe features the authentic sampled sounds of a West African Djembe restored to pristine condition by Florida-based drum teacher Ndakhte Ndiaye.. Hit the middle of the drum for a resonant bass or near the edges for higher tones & slaps.
For best results, use an iPhone or 2nd Generation iPod Touch with a built-in speaker.
iDjembe 2.0 is a major upgrade with improved sound quality and responsiveness, thanks to using OpenAL. It also adds Virtual Drum Circle, which lets you broadcast to other iDjembe players on your local network.

To the developer:
How do you connect with other idjembe players? What is the point of this? (couldn’t you play together with out any networking, just with the speakers? What would the advantage of the networking be? Lastly, any way to make it more responsive, if so, then your on to something hot! Awesome idea!
The other players need to be on the local network – it uses Bonjour. When you connect, you’ll actually be playing the other person’s djembe. It’s good for a call-and-response where the other player will try to repeat what you just played.
